Frederick Kenneth Lesnick of Poinciana, FL passed away November 19, 2018 at the age of 73. He was born on September 4, 1945 in Bridgeport, CT, the only child of Anthony Lesnick and Angela Ann Lesnick. Fred was a CT resident until 2014 when he realized his lifelong dream and relocated to FL. He graduated from Fairfield Preparatory School in Fairfield, CT and received his BA degree in Business Administration from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT.
Fred is a veteran of the United States Army having served in the Vietnam War and at Fort Bragg, North Carolina as a Specialist Five. He earned the National Defense and Vietnam Service Medals, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal, and was awarded the Bronze Star for his professionalism and initiative assessing and solving a variety of problems while in charge of medical supply computer operations servicing about half of Vietnam.
He was a people person and loved to talk making his jobs as an office manager, insurance agent, car salesman and limousine driver a good fit.
He was an unselfish happy guy who loved to laugh and a good storyteller, his subject matter amusing, entertaining and always heartfelt. His favorite topic was always his family, showing his interest and pride in places they got to see and what they were accomplishing. His vacations were always planned around his family from many years of enjoying Cape Cod with cousins, to visiting where his children were going to college, or stationed in the military, or getting married, or had relocated. His whole life revolved around his devotion to his family. He was always welcoming to new people he met especially friends and family of his children, and was blessed with two internationally born daughters-in-law.
He was an avid reader, a TV watcher who verbally engaged with the action from football to his favorite shows, and a bird and animal lover, especially his daughter’s pug Bella who he helped care for over many years and she him as well.
He was a gardener of plants and vegetables with a green thumb that was envied and a woodsman (originating with his surname), cutting his own wood to use in their wood stove and fireplace, a love his family still shares today.
His greatest enjoyment was being in or on the ocean and it’s beaches. In his younger years he had his own boat and loved taking his family and friends out water skiing and more recently had taken up making mobiles as a new hobby, utilizing all the seashells he and Mary Ann had collected together over the years.
The crown jewel of his life was finally becoming a grandpa with the birth of Ryan last year. He was the light in his final days. Fred was a fighter and a cancer survivor in his 40s but when a new cancer took hold this past year his fighting spirit wasn’t enough.
In the end Fred passed away peacefully like he would have wanted, surrounded by his loving family. He had a good life but not an easy one but he took the good with the bad every day and never gave up.
Fred leaves behind his loving wife of 46 years Mary Ann (Thomas) Lesnick and their four children: Christopher T. (Camille) Lesnick of Honolulu, Oahu, HI; Jeffery D. (Gül) Lesnick of Norwalk, CT; Timothy P.(Maribel) Lesnick of Maitland, FL, their son Ryan Thomas Lesnick is Fred and Mary Ann’s only grandchild; Jennifer A. Lesnick (Mason Bass Jr) of Champions Gate, FL; along with Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Friends to mourn his loss.
