She is survived by her sons Carl and James (Marian). She was preceded in death by her mother, father and her only grandchild, Wyatt.

Sami was a woman of great grace and equivalent strength. Raising two boys during the 1960's and early 1970's in Broward County, she balanced their need to be adventurous and her need to guide and protect. Thus, she provided a safe and secure family home where the boys and their friends were welcome.

Sami built a career as a paralegal at Chris Craft Industries and established her personal home with a view of the ocean and the intercoastal waterway. Her refuge by the water gave balance to her working life as the view of the ocean brought calm and predictability. Her home, washed in blue and white, mirrored the colors of the ocean and she always greeted her guests with a cool refreshments, delicately prepared Crudités, fresh fruits, nuts and chocolates. As time passed and her body aged, her gracious and compassionate nature continued, and she acknowledged it was time to stop driving, to downsize, to purge her belongings, and to live softly.

Image what she saw in nearly 100 years, born during the great depression, the years forward brought the building of the Empire State Building and Hoover Dam, the Hindenburg, animated movies, World War II, the Holocaust, Chuck Yeager breaking the sound barrier, the Berlin Wall erected and then later town down, the emergence of nuclear power, the polio vaccine and eradication of polio, the creation of NASA, Alaska and Hawaii becoming states, Apollo 11 Land on the Moon, the mystery and devastation of AIDS, the assassinations of Martin Luther King and John F Kennedy, the Vietnam War, the Beatles, a grandchild born on her birthday, and the emergence of the World Wide Web, COVID, and AI.

True to her generous spirit, she outlined how to manage her affairs following her death. She did all the things we are advised to do, discard and minimize belongings, to have a will and write detailed instructions, provide the names and numbers of contacts and accounts, to indicate who received her remaining personal items and who to call upon her death. All of this, she did purposefully with the knowledge that life is impermanent, and that the most compassionate gift she could give was to leave a legacy of love and beautiful memories.
