

Elizabeth Gregory Scruggs of Lake Mary, Florida passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at the age of 94. She was born on April 30, 1932, in Milford, Indiana where she grew up with six older brothers and three younger sisters on the Stieglitz family farm.
She graduated from Goshen College with a degree in Education and then proceeded to get her master’s degree from Indiana University.
She worked as an elementary school teacher, Shaklee distributor and advocate of children and children’s rights. She lived and raised her children with her husband, Edward Gregory, in Indiana, Illinois, Texas, California, Mississippi and Florida. She and her second husband, Jack Scuggs, lived in Lake Mary, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Edward Gregory, and her second husband, John “Jack” Scruggs, as well as her beloved parents, Henry and Anna Stieglitz, and several brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her children Michael (Eunice) Gregory, Lisa (Henry) Arato, Anne Watkins as well as five grandchildren – Henry Arato, Saxon Watkins, Anna Arato, Keiley Gregory and Cheyanne Watkins in addition to two step- grandchildren – Rachel (Caleb) Archer and Will Scruggs and three step- great grandchildren – Seth Archer, Elsie Archer and Caedmon Archer. She is also survived by two of her younger sisters – Frances (Eric) Schiller and Ruth (John) Hooley.
Elizabeth was a cherished daughter, sister, mother, aunt, grandmother and great – grandmother. She was a seeker of truth and devoted her life to a quest for health and spiritual growth. In her latter years she was a grateful member of the I AM Temple and St. Germain Foundation which sustained her life and brought her much joy. She was a world traveler having traveled extensively in the United States and abroad. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her children and grandchildren, spending time on her I AM studies and exemplifying its message of peace and love. She greatly enjoyed attending her Stieglitz Family reunions in Indiana with her large extended family and was blessed at the age of 93 to make a trip to Mt. Shasta for the annual I AM Pageant. She was a LIGHT to all who knew her and to the world.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life at Mead Botanical Garden (Azalea Lodge) at 1300 S Denning Drive, Winter Park, FL 32789 on Saturday, July 18, 2026, with the Celebration of Life ceremony beginning at 11:15 am. Gathering with the family for reflection and light hors d’oeuvres will begin at 10:30 am.
In lieu of flowers, we know Elizabeth would prefer a charitable donation to the St. Germain Foundation.
