Douglas Alfred Sedgwick 82, passed away May 30, 2017 in Orlando, Florida. He was born December 30, 1934 to Walter E. Sedgwick and Mary Thelma (Monroe) Sedgwick in West Point, New York. He graduated at West Point in 1958, and served in the United States Army for 20 years, Mr. Sedgwick did a tour in Vietnam. He retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. He was an owner of a successful printing franchise in Palm Bay, Florida. Following his retirement, he was very involved in volunteer work for the Melbourne Center for Personal Growth and also trained service dogs for the disabled. Mr. Sedgwick was preceded in death by his first wife, Linda Drew in 1975. He will be sorely missed by his loving wife, Edie Sedgwick; his children, Doug II, Laurie and Stephen. He also will be missed by his close family and friends. A Memorial Service will be held on June 16, 2017, 7:00 P.M. at the Orlando VA Medical Center at Lake Nona Campus, Veterans Memorial Site adjacent to the Chapel. The address is 13800 Veterans Way, Orlando, Florida 32825. An informal, catered reception will follow the service.
