Donald E. Nonnemaker, 85, passed away May 8, 2016 in Lakeland, FL. He was the husband of Debra Nonnemaker. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and son of the late George and Beatrice Nonnemaker and brother, George Nonnemaker. Main childhood interest was baseball. He played for the Allentown Patriots which led to him being drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies as a center fielder. Was later enlisted in the Army and was never able to fulfill this dream. He was enlisted in the Army 1951 and completed service in 1953. He was stationed in Germany during the Korean War as a Morse code operator. Donald was employed and retired from Kraft Foods after 38 years of work. He was very active in community organizations including the Lion’s Club and community youth leagues. He retired in 1992 to Florida with his family. Donald is survived by children Debra, Lori, Scott, Sean and the late Donald Jr. and subsequent 11 grandchildren. Services will be held at 10am at First United Methodist Church of Lakeland. Interment to follow memorial.
