With heavy hearts, we announced the passing of our beloved Deogracias Doroteo Tulio, affectionately known to those around him as Dad, Papa and Lolo, on October 30, 2026, at the age of 89.
Born in Aklan, Philippines, Deo proudly served 20 years in the United States Navy, including during Vietnam War. He served aboard the USS Biddle, the USS Bryce Canyon, and the USS Enterprise. For an additional 10 years thereafter, he served in the Fleet reserve before retiring honorably.
Beyond his service, Deo was a devoted husband to Mary Tobelene Tulio for 58 beautiful years. Together, they committed to setting the foundations for a family full of love, faith and adventure.
Deo was a loving and supportive father to Mardelene, using everything within his power and ability to push her toward her dreams and ambitions. From teaching her how to swim along the shores of Hawaii as a child to graduating along side her through Dental school, he made sure to be there for her through it all.
Deo was a proud grandfather to Jasmine and Desaree. It didn’t matter if they were age 3 or 30, he always supported them: from a smile and a hug to countless words of wisdom and faith. Through every circumstance, he reminded them to be brave; that even in the unknown, there are friends to be made.
And although for not nearly long enough, Deo was a cherished great-grandfather to Noah whom he met on his 89th Birthday. Deo would call and talk to 9-month-old Noah daily and constantly made even the youngest of his family smile and giggle.
Deo often said, “Anything over age 60 is a blessing,” He lived those words with gratitude for every year, milestone, and family moment.
Dad, thank you for your sacrifices, wisdom, love, and the memories you gave us. Your legacy will live on through generations.
You will forever be loved, deeply missed and remembered.
Rest Peacefully until that Blessed morning.
