Barbara Jean Upton

Mrs. Barbara J. Upton, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, dear friend and wife, passed away peacefully on May 12th surrounded by her loved ones. Born on August 30, 1942, in Jackson, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Edwin Gulick and LouElla Buskirk.

Mrs. Upton will be remembered for her boundless kindness, unwavering love, and selfless devotion to her family. She treasured every moment with her children and grandchildren, showering them with unconditional love, strength, and unwavering support. In turn, her children honored her with deep appreciation, cherishing her guidance and steadfast presence in their lives.

She touched the hearts and was adored by everyone she met, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and love. Her memory will be carried on by all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Preceded in death by her parents, Edwin Arthur Gulick and LouElla Irene Buskirk. She is survived by her husband John R. Upton, her children Mary Wheeler of South Carolina, Schelesia (Ken) Mangus of Michigan, Caralee Wells of Florida, Paul (Shelly) Salyer of Tennessee, Jim Salyer of Michigan, Casey Salyer of Michigan, her dear sister Patricia (Bill) Lemaster. Grandchildren Jack “JD” Wheeler, Aaron (Synthia) Wheeler, Brandee Wheeler, Taylor (Hanna) Wheeler, Ken (Keara) Mangus, Chelsey Salyer, Coleton Wells, Jason Lyons, Nathan Lyons, Samantha Lyons.Great-Grand children Brooklynn Wheeler, Austin Wheeler, Sophia Wheeler, Logan Harris, Lainey Mangus, Amelia Mangus, Sophia Mangus, Jesse Salyer. She also leaves behind numerous extended family members.

Mrs. Upton’s life will be celebrated at Orange Street Church of Christ at 310 Orange St, Auburndale, FL 33823 on May 31, 2025 at 1pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Foundation Children’s Research Hospital or Shriners Hospital for Children as a tribute to her compassionate spirit.

She will be dearly missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those she loved.
