Anna Helena Lubic

Born in Pennsylvania, she was given the nickname “Boots” by her father at a very early age. Her childhood was shaped by the home front of World War II and the dynamic changes of the post-war boom, leading up to her high school graduation in 1952.

She was wed to her beloved husband, Joseph Lubic, with whom she shared 58 wonderful years of marriage and built a life rooted in love and devotion.

A woman of immense faith, warmth, and resilience, Boots spent her life caring for others. She supported her husband and family as a US Air Force wife, across many assignments and locations until he retired in 1969 and moved the family to Florida. She worked for many years in the Florida Department of Labor helping people find jobs throughout South Florida. She was known for her work ethic and caring nature.

Beyond her professional life, she was a dedicated member of the local Catholic Churches. After moving in 1993 she and Joe became volunteers for Meals on Wheels, bringing meals to the elderly and the home-bound and providing much-needed personal attention; St Vincent DePaul’s thrift shop; and the local hospital satellite gymnasium.

To those who knew her, Boots was a pillar of strength and a source of constant joy. She loved to travel with Joe, especially to visit her grandchildren whom she cherished. She had a passion for crocheting blankets and other articles for family and friends. She could often be found playing Mexican Dominoes with her circle of friends or walking the neighborhood with her closest companions.

She will be most remembered by her family for her amazing homemade pierogies and apple and pumpkin pies, and taking the time to pass these skills to the next generation. Her unconditional love will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Her greatest pride and joy was her family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joe; her parents; and her siblings James, David, and Mary.

She leaves behind a rich legacy and is survived by her loving children: Joseph and his wife Cynthia; Ronald (and his partner Sue); Dan; and Jody and her husband James. She was the cherished grandmother of six grandchildren, and the proud great-grandmother of four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

A private family memorial service and interment will be held at a later date at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest alongside her beloved husband. Arrangements are being privately handled by her family.
