Teresa Rose Blythe

Teresa was born September 23, 1956, and was the long-awaited first-born daughter to Phillip Edmund Blythe and Viola Rose Blythe. She was the fourth of eight children in the Blythe family.

Teresa grew up on the Blythe family farm in Los Lunas, New Mexico. She attended local schools and graduated from Los Lunas High School. She later earned a bachelor’s degree in physical education from Western New Mexico University in Silver City, New Mexico. Her passion for helping others led her to pursue master's degrees in Adaptive Physical Education and Counseling.

Teresa dedicated her career to teaching, coaching, training, and mentoring middle and high school students. She deeply loved young people and found great joy in encouraging them to reach their full potential.

A lifelong sports enthusiast, Teresa especially enjoyed basketball and racquetball. She was fiercely competitive and brought energy and enthusiasm to every family ping-pong, volleyball, and basketball game.

Above all, Teresa loved the Lord with all her heart. As an adult, she attended YWAM's (Youth with A Mission) University of the Nations in Hawaii and later served on mission trips to China and the Philippines. She loved music, played guitar and was a part of the worship team at The Vineyard Church in Albuquerque and Grace Fellowship in Los Lunas. Her faith was central to her life and reflected in her service to others.

Teresa was a warm, outgoing, and encouraging person whose enthusiasm touched the lives of many. She cherished time spent with friends and loved ones, enjoyed traveling with family, and found special joy in being near the ocean.

Teresa is survived by her siblings, Mark Blythe, Mia Meche, Monica Gelinas, and Amy Blythe, and a multitude of nieces and nephews.

The family will be celebrating her life at a private ceremony to be held in September.
