Tavis Jon Kimbrough

Tavis was a beloved son, brother, and family member whose sudden loss leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He is survived by his mother, Lana James; his father, John Kimbrough; his stepmother, Lora Kimbrough; his brother, Keegan Kimbrough and his family; his stepsister, Carolyn Rando; and his stepbrother, Michael Rando.

From an early age, Tavis possessed a keen artistic talent, finding joy and solace in expressing himself through art. He attended the University of New Mexico for a time, where he further explored his creativity and nurtured his passion for understanding the world around him. Tavis’s life was not marked by the pursuit of material wealth, but rather by an earnest quest for knowledge and compassion. He valued relationships and experiences over possessions, living a life free from the trappings of materialism and greed.

His desire was not to live in luxury, but to live in freedom.

Tavis was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Minerva and Hugh Kimbrough, and his uncle, Jim Kimbrough. He also joins his maternal grandparents, Emil and Lucia Salat, along with his uncle, Jon Salat, and aunt, Dianne Summers, in eternal peace.

Those fortunate enough to have known Tavis will remember him as a person whose wealth was measured not in riches, but in the depth of his compassion and understanding. His family fondly recalls his ability to listen and support others, always offering a kind word or a helping hand to those in need, always ready with a witty joke to try to lighten the mood.

In honor of Tavis’s memory, his family requests that those who wish to commemorate his life do so by extending a hand to someone in need, reflecting the spirit of generosity that Tavis embodied.
