

She passed away June 19, 2026 in Santa Fe, New Mexico at the age of 76 after a long illness. Dr. Johnson was born in Danville, Virginia on August 26, 1949 to her parents William and Eleanor Caldwell. In childhood her family moved to Gainesville, Georgia where she finished high school and later obtained her PhD in Family Psychology at the University of Georgia. She practiced psychology in Georgia and South Carolina before moving to Connecticut then to New Mexico with her husband. She is survived by her husband in New Mexico, daughter in Minnesota, and two siblings in Georgia. Susan was an avid tennis player and loved to play bridge. She enjoyed travelling and appreciated the natural world around her.
