Shirley Mae Huebert was born on June 19, 1932 in Cedar Falls, Iowa to Olive and Albert Roskam. She passed on March 25, 2025 in Bernalillo, New Mexico. She was preceded in death by her parents, her only sibling, John Roskam, spouses Marvin Henke and Lee Huebert, and son-in-law Jimmy Jenkins. She is survived by children Michael Henke (Ana Mari) of Albuquerque, Steven Henke (Cynthia) of Bernalillo, and Rhonda Jenkins of Colorado Springs; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She is also survived by her friend and companion of many years, Don Cook of Alamogordo, New Mexico.
Shirley moved to New Mexico in 1964 and to Alamogordo in 1968, where she resided until her recent health challenges. She was a Tupperware Representative and Manager for over 30 years. She was a member of the Kiwanis, Moose, Unitarian Church and Seniors organizations, and an active recreational vehicle traveler and member of the Good Sam Club. Shirley enjoyed travelling, meeting new people and experiencing the wonders of interesting places. She volunteered much of her time after retirement to Gerald Champion Hospital and Classy Cats. She was legendary among her family and friends for her pancake and bacon breakfasts, savored and enjoyed by all, yet never accurately duplicated.
Per her wishes, Shirely was cremated with a memorial service planned for this summer.
