Shirley was born in Pueblo, Colorado on May 2, 1931 to parents Mildred and Johnny Hill. Shirley is survived by many: Her daughter, Sandra Siebuhr, and, her grandchildren Jason Boles, Philip Dominic Ruiz, Shannon Clemans, Roger Iglehart, Brian Iglehart, Tracy Brock, and Anola Iglehart. As well as her great-grandchildren Angelo Ruiz, Alice Ruiz, Coyote Ruiz, Abbey Bitterman, Kiyera Black, Willamina Brock, Adelaide Brock, Stella Brock, Lilly Brock, and Evangeline Brock. Lastly, her great-great-grandchildren, Artemis, Finnegan, and Serenade.
Shirley made her talents known through concert piano in her youth, growing her education in her early adulthood by studying in bookkeeping and accounting at what was previously known as TVI, now CNM. In her free time, she made sure to keep her mind sharp by getting lost in a good murder mystery novel, her favorite author being James Patterson. Being an avid swimmer, she taught nearly every single family member how to do the same while babysitting during the hot New Mexico summers. If she wasn’t reading, or swimming, she was outside in her garden that she meticulously took care of until the sun went down. Shirley never minded getting her hands dirty.
Shirley was never seen without her coffee or tea, her purse, and a small Bible that she kept inside her purse until the very end of her life. Sundays were always for church, no exceptions, but if you went with her, McDonald’s ice cream cones and a quarter pounder with cheese was definitely on the schedule to reward you for listening to the Lords words for the week. Shirley was a sweetheart with a sweet tooth, her kindness spread far and wide to her network of friends, strangers, and all who were blessed to meet her. Carol-Anne Mills, George-Ann, and Robyn were her treasured best friends who she thought of daily in her morning prayers before starting her day. Shirley will be missed and her memory will be treasured forever, and, we hope that God welcomed her personally at the gates of Heaven.
