Ruth Maria Pollak

Ruth Maria Pollak passed away on October 5, 2026, at the age of 106. Born in Freiburg Germany, she immigrated to America with her parents when she was 10 years old. Because school children in America could not pronounce her German birth name, Waltraute, they nicknamed her Ruth, a name that stuck with her for 106 years.

Ruth outlived 3 husbands and birthed 2 children, a son Kurt and daughter Suzanne with her first husband, Marvin Bruens.

Ruth was blessed with a mostly wonderful and long life. Her only secret for reaching the Centenarian milestone was “everything in moderation,” except no limits on sweets.

She had no interest in any public ceremony after her death, hence her send off to what lies beyond which included the quiet presence and whispers of goodbyes from a few caregivers and Suzanne.

Ruth wanted no memorial service. She will always be loved and remembered.
