

Ronald was born on August 27, 1935, in Manhattan, New York. He lived in New Jersey and Albany, New York, where he graduated from Philip Schuyler High School and Hudson Valley Community College. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War era.
Following his military service, Ronald had a distinguished 38-year career at Sandia National Laboratories. He retired in 2000 and continued to reside in Albuquerque and Jemez Springs, NM. He was a lifetime Ham Radio Operator. His passion was climbing the highest mountain in the Western Hemisphere and many other parts of the world, bicycling, camping, fishing, hiking, kayaking, sailing, skiing, sports car clubs, and other outdoor activities.
Ronald is survived by his beloved wife, Dolores; his sister, Barbara Lottiniville; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Albert Malpass, and his mother, Ada Walters Malpass.
The Rite of Committal will be held at 1:30 pm on June 24, 2026 with military honors at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
