Robyn Lucinda Reede

Our beloved sister, niece, and best friend, Robyn, moved on from this world on August 21, 2026. Fittingly, it was the peak of shooting-star season in Santa Fe, providing appropriate bling for her departure.

Robyn lived life enthusiastically and fully, from a very young, early era as a Las Vegas showgirl to earning a degree from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts, while living a jet-set rock ’n’ roll life in London, to a more settled a career in Santa Fe, as a coordinator with the New Mexico State Aging and Long-Term Services Department. While working, she earned her GED, Bachelor’s, Master’s and MBA degrees, accomplishments of which she was very proud, having not completed traditional high school. She also taught Business Administration at Santa Fe Community College and served as treasurer of Ukrainian Americans of New Mexico.

While working to help others in her position with the State, she continued her life-long passion of acting on the stage, in film and on tv, performing a kaleidoscope of roles. Her career began in Hollywood, where she acted opposite Henry Fonda in Our Town, and continued to productions at Santa Fe Playhouse, Shakespeare in the Park, and twenty-six film credits, culminating with her most recent film Eddington.

Robyn was instrumental in building New Mexico’s film community. She served as the Los Alamos Film Commissioner, was a founding member of New Mexico Women in Film, and served on the boards of FOCUS New Mexico, the Santa Fe Film Festival, and the Screen Actors Guild (now SAG-AFTRA). She moderated film events throughout the state and most recently served as a reporter for HollywoodTimes.net, covering New Mexico’s film industry.

Generous to a fault, she will also be remembered for her love of giving gifts, and the requisite shopping that entailed. Like a shooting star, Robyn left a sparkling trail behind her and will be sorely missed.

Robyn is survived by her Aunt Molly; brother John and sister-in-law Margo; and best friends and fantastic caregivers, Rachel and Martha. She was preceded in passing by her parents and her little brother, Tim.

Our very sincerest thanks and gratitude go to her amazing hospice team, including Keith, Jessica, Jordan and Donna. You guys were great!

There will be a celebration of Robyn’s life around New Year’s, including brass band music, of which she would most definitely approve.
