

Born on June 21, 1947 in Passaic, New Jersey, Robert passed away on August 3, 2024 in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. He is preceded in death by his daughter Rachel Galler, his mother Frances Arenge Galler, and his father Frank Galler. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 54 years, Kathleen Knight Galler, daughter Nora Galler, grandson Henry Lewis, and brothers Frank and Donald Galler.
Robert obtained a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Drexel University 1970. He had a decades long career as a mechanical engineer; his last place of employment before retiring in 2012 was Intel where he was a Facilities Engineer.
He was a long time member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Robert held various positions in the Priesthood including four years as the Bishop of the State College Ward, State College, PA. He was also active in the LDS Church Boy Scouting program in both Pennsylvania and New Mexico.
Until his death, Robert had been serving on the Board of Cornucopia Adult and Family Services, a position he held for approximately ten years.
Robert was an avid model airplane hobbyist. He was a member of the Society of Antique Modelers (SAM); he designed, built, and flew model airplanes and competed nationally and internationally. Robert was the current President and had recently traveled to Hungary for the SAM Champs.
In addition to model airplanes, for many years Robert designed and built Meccano and Erector set models. Many of his builds and unique designs were published in respective hobbyist magazines and exhibited in displays.
Family and friends will be invited to a Memorial Service at a later date, to be announced by the family. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Cornucopia Adult and Family Services in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
