Patricia Marie Whited

Patricia "Pat" Whited, a woman of profound grace, dedication, and enduring loyalty, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2026, at the age of 84. She leaves behind a legacy defined by an extraordinary lifetime of service to her nation and an unwavering devotion to the people she loved.

Born on September 25, 1941, in the quiet beauty of Mancos, Colorado, to George and Alice Louise Whited, Pat carried the grounded, resilient spirit of her hometown throughout her life. She eventually made her home in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where she established deep roots, pursued her education at the University of New Mexico, and built a life of impact.

Pat’s definitive life's work was her service to her country. For an incredible 32 years and 9 months, from January 1964 until September 1996, she served with distinction as a United States Air Force Protocol Officer. In this vital role, Pat was the guiding force behind flawless operations, military diplomacy, and high-level coordination. Her precision, poise, and structural expertise earned her the deep respect of the military community at Kirtland Air Force Base and beyond. Following her decorated civil service career, she successfully channeled her vast expertise into the private sector, continuing to bring people together through her own event coordination venture. Beyond her professional achievements, Pat’s heart belonged to her family and her home. She is now peacefully reunited with her beloved, longtime partner of over 50 years, Morris Rose, who preceded her in death in 2013. Their bond was a cornerstone of her life, built on decades of shared memories, deep love, and a mutual connection to the military community.

Pat was also preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Kenneth, Theodore, and Alice. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive by her surviving sister, Helen Cardon of Denver, Colorado, as well as her extended family, Bonus family David Cawood, Michael and Sydney Cawood, friends, and the many colleagues whose lives she touched over her decades of service.

Pat will be remembered as a pioneer in her career, a steadfast partner, a beloved sister and Aunt. Her legacy of honor, duty, and love will endure in the hearts of all who knew her.
