Marilyn Joyce Liaghat

Marilyn was born March 10, 1935, in Centralia, Illinois, to Ira and Merle Davis. She grew up in Centralia, a place that remained close to her heart throughout her life.

Her life took her far beyond her Illinois hometown. Marilyn lived in Iran for about 15 years and traveled the world, experiencing many remarkable places and creating memories she treasured throughout her life.

Marilyn was a classy lady with an unmistakable sense of style. She always dressed elegantly, carried herself with grace and had a natural flair for fashion. Those who loved her will remember her sense of humor and contagious laughter. She brought joy to those around her and made ordinary moments memorable.

Above all, Marilyn cherished her family. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.

Marilyn was preceded in death by one grandson. She is survived by her six children: Terry Sanders, Deborah Molk, Sheila Liaghat, Jamal Liaghat, Linda Thrower and Shanna McKenna. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and many other relatives and friends who loved her dearly.

Marilyn’s family plans to return her ashes to Centralia and lay her to rest in a place meaningful to her and her family. Details of a memorial gathering will be shared at a later date.

Marilyn traveled the world, but in the end, she will return home to Centralia.
