June Blair, a beloved stepmother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother, passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 23rd 2023. She will be remembered as a loving, caring and adventurous woman who was devoted to her family, her faith and love of traveling. Born on July 19th, 1923 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, June was a woman of faith whose love for God radiated in everything she did. June’s faith not only gave her spiritual strength but also influenced how she treated others, with love, compassion and understanding.
As a stepmother, June brought love, stability and acceptance. As a grandmother, June always made us feel loved and accepted. We were grateful for her gentle guidance and wisdom. June’s role as a great and great great grandmother brought her immeasurable joy. She cherished the time she spent with her great and great great grandchildren, showering them with love and creating precious memories.
Pets held a special place in June’s heart. She loved Smokey (cat) and Taffy (dog), and when she grew older she loved and cared for countless pets of others. June truly loved her furry friends. She felt they brought comfort, happiness and unconditional love into our lives.
June was an avid traveler, eager to explore new places. Her adventurous spirit took her to various destinations such as Scotland, Sweden, Denmark, England, Australia, Alaska, Hawaii, Flon Flon and many many more. She also traveled in a motor home with her dear friend Rose. June also enjoyed taking pictures, golf and walks.
June dedicated her life to serving. She lived out her faith through acts of kindness and compassion for others. She served at Sombra del Monte Christian Church as an Elder, worship leader, a women’s circle leader, who would also take communion to shut ins. She was a faithful, long term volunteer at the Salvation Army. As well an active participant of Church Woman United where she was awarded the “Valiant Woman Award”.
June had a genuine love for people. She also cared for people who needed it. She loved to watch people. June was quiet, very bright and caring. We are so grateful to God for bringing her into our lives. June Blair will be remembered for her devotion to her family and her faith. Though we mourn her passing, we take solace in knowing that she is in Heaven and has been made new again. 2 Corinthians 5:1 June Blair was preceded in death by her loving husband Raphael ( Ra) Sigsbee Blair, stepdaughters Mary Jane Sutter and Sandra Lee Gough.
