Born December 18, 1954 in Sheboygan, WI to parents Henry and Sonja Niblock. Henry was welcomed by three sisters to complete their family. The family relocated to Albuquerque in 1956, thus he spent most of his life in the high desert for which he had a zestful love. Raised in the mountains of Cedar Crest, NM, graduate of Manzano High School, his family was lovingly increased by a step mom, two brothers, and one sister. Henry served his country in the US Navy aboard the USS Bainbridge for six years. Upon discharge he completed a degree in electrical engineering from UNM. He began his career in that profession spanning more than thirty-eight years retiring the end of 2019. He was preceded in death by his wife, Karen, the love of his life.
Henry was a gentle soul, full of life, fun, wit and laughter, and clever innovations. For himself, he was a minimalist, for others, he gave boundless generosity of every kind, random acts of kindness to strangers, and an unlimited source of help to his family. He loved the great outdoors and was keen to the presence of wildlife often carrying a camera to capture the majesty of the flora and fauna. He carried dog biscuits in his pockets to treat the neighborhood dogs as he took walks, found places along the many hiking trails he traversed to place a two dollar bill for some hiker to discover. He made every day an adventure and found a bright side to every situation. He continues to offer new life and hope to others as he selflessly was an organ donor.
He was taken too soon as the result of a pleasant summer evening ride on his motorcycle. His absence leaves a tremendous void in the lives of his cherished family, friends, neighbors, and Navy buddies.
Henry, our Chip, we'll love you forever.
Committal Service will be Friday, October 20th at 1:30pm at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
