Hart:
RIP my friend, you were an inspiration and a tireless worker for the natural world.  We shared some great times in the field, and I learned a lot from you.  I'm glad to have known you.

Hart was a beloved employee of the U.S. Forest Service-Cibola National Forest for over 25 years.  He was one of the most skilled birders in New Mexico and his expertise led to many exciting discoveries and protections for rare and endangered species as well as more common birds in rare habitats. Hart created an inventory and monitoring program for migratory birds on the Cibola National Forest and the data is still used by wildlife managers.  His annual breeding bird survey report was a scientific compilation of inventoried birds with commentary written in the style of early naturalists.  Hart was a philosopher and his enthusiasm for the natural world was contagious.  He was one of a kind. He is missed.
