Frank Laurence Quintanar

Frank Laurence Quintanar passed away at the age of 84 on April 26, 2025 in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Frank passed peacefully in his home with his loving husband, Michael R. Fletcher of 25 years by his side. Frank is also survived by his sister, Sheri Bailey: cousins Alva Mendivil, Queta Czerniewski, Irma Mateus Quintanar, Maria Elena Quintanar, Carmen Zubiate and Sonia Anderson. Frank is preceded in death by his parents.

Frank was born August 15, 1940 in Van Nuys, California to Evelina Cosanos and Dio Morreno Quintanar. He grew up in San Fernando, California, attended San Fernando High School, San Fernando Junior College, UCLA College Prep, served two years in the Army in Vietnam, and attended medical school to be a Doctor's Assistant. Frank was an amazing dancer and instructor at Arthur Murray Dance Studio and Stardust Ballroom in Las Vegas, Nevada. He became a jewelry designer and jewelry exhibitor in California. Frank was in charge of Quality Control for Boeing Airlines and became a consultant for the Department of Defense. He then relocated to Santa Fe, NM with his husband Michael where he lived for the past 23 years and became the Artistic Director for the Internationally known Gourd Artist, "Robert Rivera."

Frank is remembered for his kind, caring, happy, and funny nature and his childlike, contagious grin. He loved his family, being with and entertaining his friends, working in his backyard and creating his beautiful, enchanting gardens, collecting art, and sharing his life with his husband, Michael and their beloved pets.

Michael is forever grateful for the beautiful life that he and Frank created. Frank blessed his life abundantly every day for 25 years. Michael also wishes to sincerely thank friends and family for all the support, especially over the past several months that have been so difficult.

Frank's military service and honors will be held on Friday, May 23 at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 12:30PM.
