Edmund, known as Ed, was born to Edmund and Mary Hoffmann (nee Bohnen) on July 18, 1936 in Wilmette, Illinois.
Ed attended St. Joseph Elementary School, New Trier High School and Lake Forest College. He served in the army for two years in the Panama Canal Zone.
Ed worked for Hubert Hoffmann and Sons Florists in Wilmette and for the city of Elmhurst from 1977 until his retirement in 1998. He retired to New Mexico where he enjoyed gardening, hiking and spending time with his dogs.
Ed is survived by his ex-wife, Rita Hoffmann, his children Lisa (Mike) Milani and Lawrence (Lisa) Hoffmann, his step-sons Bob (Deborah) Gdala and Tom (Marti) Gdala and his grandchildren Christopher, Michael, Renata, Elaina, and Catherine.
Ed is also survived by his sister Mary Jane Martin. Ed was predeceased by his parents and his step-son Eddie Gdala.
