He was born August 6, 1954, in Albuquerque, NM to Pat and Marilyn Murphy. Growing up he and his mother and many of his friends would go camping, fishing, and hunting. He played baseball and football while at Highland High School and continued to play baseball for many years after. He also coached Little League and was an avid golfer. He was a dedicated employee who worked at Knighton’s Automotive Machine Shop for over 30 years. In addition to golf and baseball, he loved the Dallas Cowboys, camping, hunting, and anything outdoors as well as enjoying life with loved ones. He never said no to a friend or family member in need. He was a generous, caring individual who was always ready to help in any way he could.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Mary J Murphy, and daughter Melanie (Ryan) Bogart and grandkids Ainsley, Ethan and Autumn; sister Michele (Rusty) Arrighetti and nephew Keith Arrighetti; sister Candy Murphy and nephew Teddy Murphy; sister Babette Murphy and nephew Kyle Stepp.
A celebration of life will be planned this Spring; the family will be sure to share details.
