Casey O'Hara

Casey “Cricket” O’Hara, 68, passed away in a Hospice residence in Albuquerque on April 30, 2023. Born Ruth Haake on June 18, 1954 to Virginia Black Haake and Erwin O. Haake. She later changed her name to Casey O’Hara to honor her Irish heritage. A 1973 graduate of Mayfield High School in Las Cruces NM, she first attended St. Edwards University in Austin TX majoring in Theater. She then went on to attend University of New Mexico nursing school and earned her RN. She dedicated her life to helping people working at various hospitals in Texas And New Mexico. She was preceded in death by both parents. Casey leaves members of her extended adopted family: her Mom on Earth, Lola Eagle; brother David Eagle, sister Kathy Eagle; sister Kelly Eagle; niece Mikelyna Eagle; nephew Robert Eagle; grandnephews Aaron Eagle and Jacob Eagle; as well as her 2nd cousin Rhonda Ritchey and husband Adam Ritchey. Family and friends will remember her as a friendly extrovert always willing to listen to anyone’s problems, whether she knew the person or not, and a home shared with various and multiple dogs over the years. Cremation has taken place. Any memorials could be shared as donations to animal charities.
