It is with great heartache and sorrow that we announce the passing of Andrew (Andy) Montano on January 20, 2025. He was 41 years old and was born and raised in Albuquerque. Andy was a very caring and insightful person. His quiet soft manner with his family and his pets taught us a lot about love and patience. His subtle humor caught us off guard on a regular basis. After a long illness he was taken unexpectedly in his sleep. His passing left a hollow place in our heart, but we are consoled and rejoice with the understanding that we will see him again.
Andy is survived by his mother and father, Mona and Reynaldo Montano: grandmother, Theresa Baldonado: brothers Jacob (Amanda), Isaac (Traci Depardo) & David (Colette Gallegos): nephews, Jake Lee and Paul: Montano Uncles, Benji (Angela), Joe (Shiela) Arturo (Darlene), Michael (Leslie), Gilbert (Janesa), Louie (Debbie) Archie Baldonado (Julie) and Francisco Rivera: aunts, Margaret (Kenny Montoya), Anita, (George Maes), Juanita (Robert Lucero), Angelina (Juan Cedillo), Mary Therese (Curtis Jingle), Patricia Baldonado, Katheryn Mulvaney, and numerous cousins and their families.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bennie and Adelina Montano: grandfather, Arsenio Baldonado: aunts, Marsha Rivera, and Mary Montano: uncle, George Mulvaney: cousins, Arsenio (PK) Baldonado and Andrea Rivera-Smith.
A more private burial will take place on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at 12:30 p.m. at the Sunset Memorial Park located at 924 Menaul Blvd. N.E., with the entrance to the burial site just north of the I-40 overpass on Edith Street N.E.
