Matthew Eric Christian

Matthew Eric Christian, 68, of Albuquerque, NM, died on September 13, 2023, surrounded by people who love him. He enjoyed fishing, cooking, reading, pranking, walking, collecting marbles, drinking beer, checking the mail, and tending to his favorite plant (Groot).

He was born in 1955 in Albuquerque, NM. He graduated El Dorado High School in 1973 before serving in the United States Army for four years and attaining the rank of sergeant. He met Patsy in 1983 and married her in 1984. Professionally, he worked as a telecommunications engineer before his retirement in 2020. Over the years, he also worked to improve his community by coaching basketball at the YMCA and teaching catechism at St. Joseph's on the Rio Grande.

He is survived by his wife, Patsy Christian; his daughter, Melissa Kountz, and her husband, Michael Kountz; his son, Joshua Christian, and his wife, Kristin Christian; and his son, Justin Christian, and his wife, Anna Christian. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Jordan, Valerie, Liliana, Liam, and Alcyone.
