Cremation Costs to Consider

the stripes of a calculator. symbolic photo for cost planning, costing, profit and revenue When most people think of cremation costs, they think of the act of cremation itself. What many do not realize is that there are many associated products and services families may need to consider as they honor and remember their loved one.

Neptune Society provides all the necessary services that will be needed at the time of death. We offer these services as part of our cost-saving and convenient packages and on an itemized basis as outlined in our general price list. For a copy of our general price list, please contact us today.

Cremation Packages or Direct Cremation

Consider purchasing a Neptune Society cremation package which includes all needed cremation services, including transportation, holding, documentation, and more for one price. Typically, families that purchase a package can save hundreds over the cost of individual products or services.

For those who want to keep things simple, Neptune’s Simplicity option is a great choice. Simplicity includes the cremation services above, but does not include a memorial service or viewing. This is sometimes referred to as direct cremation. Other packages such as our Premium and Veteran’s packages may include a memorial service, upgraded urns, and other services.

Transportation and Relocation

Transportation of a loved one to a secondary location can also cost extra. When one passes away in one location, but a funeral, memorial service, or burial must be planned somewhere else, it may be necessary to transport the cremated remains to their final location. This can occur when a person has a second home, has moved away from their hometown, will be buried in a National Cemetery, or a number of other scenarios.

Embalming and Viewing

Some families may wish to have the body of their loved one embalmed for a funeral service or viewing prior to cremation. The costs of these services are fully detailed in our General Price List of itemized services.

Urns, Memorials, and Keepsakes

Urns, memorials and keepsakes are another cremation cost families may wish to consider when seeking ways to honor the memory of their loved one. Neptune Society carries a large selection of affordable urns and keepsakes. We can also assist in the selection of permanent memorials. If you are unable to select an urn now, Neptune Society can also provide a temporary container for a very low cost. Urns or an urn allowance are included in some of our packages and on an itemized basis.

Neptune Society can help you make arrangements for a scattering that meets Federal and State regulations. If ashes are to be scattered over water, the Federal Clean Water Act requires that cremated remains be scattered at least three nautical miles from land. Neptune Society can help you arrange a charter for a private scattering at sea, or a common scattering (with other families) at the rates on our General Price List.

The list of products and services associated with cremation is extensive, and Neptune Society can assist with almost any service or combination of services that a family might wish. All costs are published on our price lists for packages and itemized services.

By law, all cremation providers are required to refer to their general price list when discussing cremation pricing. Please contact us today for more information.
